Answers to Your Questions

What happens during a teeth cleaning?
During a dental cleaning appointment, your hygienist will gently remove tartar above and below the gum line. We’ll also carefully clean the areas between your teeth and polish your teeth with a special paste.

Does a teeth cleaning hurt?
Most people do not experience any discomfort during a cleaning. If you’re suffering from inflamed gums or another oral health issue, you may experience some sensitivity or bleeding of the gums.

Why do I need to have my teeth cleaned at least twice a year?
Brushing and flossing your teeth is incredibly important, but it’s not enough. Certain areas of your mouth are difficult to reach and most people experience some plaque and tartar buildup no matter how diligent their dental hygiene habits. Professional dental cleanings keep bacteria-filled tartar from building up and hurting your gums or causing decay.
